Actress Meera Muralidharan is familiar to the Malayalam television audience, thanks to her diverse roles in serials. Meera, who is also a trained dancer, says she finds travelling a refreshing experience. The star reveals her favourite destinations and travel plans.
A fun Goa trip
"I love travelling but am yet to visit any foreign country. Among the places I have visited so far, it is Goa that attracted me most. It was a four-day trip with family and friends. Beaches and seas captivate me. I was fortunate to visit almost all major beaches in Goa and relish the local cuisine during the visit," says Meera.
Regular trips to Munnar
Meera has visited Munnar on several occasions. "My latest trip was during December. The beautiful tea gardens, wonderful climate and blooms of 'Neelakurinji' make Munnar a magical experience. One never gets tired of enjoying these sights, which lure me to the place time and again," she says.
The planning
Most of Meera's trips take place considering the convenience of relatives. "Father's leave, brother's classes and my own shooting schedule are taken into account," says the actress.
Love for trekking and adventure
The actress enjoys travelling to cool places with greenery and flowers but says that she finds maximum thrill in adventurous trips.
"Travels offer me a kick, but I have not been able to visit as many places as I wished. But the future lies ahead and there are several trips coming up," says Meera.
Recharging herself
The main factor that compels Meera to undertake journeys is that the trips recharge her. "Each journey offers you varied sights, a chance to meet new people and relish the local cuisine. These advantages make me fall in love with journeys," she explains.
World tour, a dream
Meera cannot suggest any particular destination as her favourite. "I wish to travel to so many places and enjoy the sights. But it is an international trip that is my dream. USA, Paris, Switzerland and Maldives are on my list," she reveals.
Shooting at Gundlupet
The shooting location of a serial titled 'Indira' was at Gundlupet, a picturesque hamlet in Karnataka. "The serial was shot in tiny villages with small houses. The stay in that place relishing the local cuisine was a great experience. Apart from the stay, the trips to and from Gundlupet were with the shooting crew and other TV stars. We enjoyed every moment with songs, games and other fun activities," says Meera.
She also visited Coimbatore as part of the serial shooting.
Kudajadri trip in rain
During her childhood, Meera's trips were mostly to temples. "Among my most memorable journeys was the one to Mookambika Temple and Kudajadri. After praying at Mookambika, we headed to Kudajadri in a jeep. The route was a rough track and it was an adventurous trip. We visited Kudajadri peak and Sarvajna Peedom where Sankaracharya conducted penance before heading back. A heavy rain lashed the area during the entire time, creating an unearthly setting. It gave me a sort of spiritual experience that I still remember often. Kudajadri is among the places that I wish to visit again," says the star.
School excursions
Recently, Meera travelled to Ooty along with three families. "We spent four days there, having a feel of the pleasant weather," she adds.
The actress had earlier travelled to the hill station during her schooldays. "The excursions from school and college along with classmates and friend to places like Ooty, Mysuru, Wayanad and Pondicherry were all very thrilling and full of fun," she recalls.
Meera loves each and every trip – even short journeys – and makes the most of the experience.
