India's top-ranked chess player, Arjun Erigaisi, has received his US Visa with just three days left until the World Rapid & Blitz Championships in New York.
"I have received the US Visa. I am honestly overwhelmed and very grateful for so much positive response to my situation," Arjun posted on the social media platform X, also called Twitter.
Two days ago, the India No. 1 was forced to make an appeal on social media as the US Embassy had not stamped his Visa that was submitted a week before. "I hope to make all of you and our country proud of my achievements. New York here I come," Arjun posted in his latest update.
World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen has listed Arjun as one of his top-five toughest opponents in the Rapid format in the championships to be held in New York from December 26 to 31.
