India will meet Germany in the semifinals of the men's hockey event at the Paris Olympics. India beat Great Britain in a shootout to make it to the semifinals for the second successive edition.
Germany got the better of Argentina 3-2 in their last-eight clash to set up a clash with India. India had beaten Germany in the bronze-medal playoff to end a 41-year drought at Tokyo 2020. India last featured in the Olympic hockey final at Moscow 1980.
Spain, who stunned defending champions Belgium 3-2 in the quarterfinals, will take on the Netherland in the other semifinal. The Dutch edged out Australia 2-0 in the quarterfinals.
The semifinals will be played on Tuesday. The Netherlands-Spain clash will take place at 5.30 pm IST, while the Germany-India game will begin at 10.30 pm IST.
