Providence, St Ephrems emerge champions in KT Mathai memorial basketball tourney

Providence GHSS Kozhikode and St Ephrems HSS Mannanam emerged champions in the Karikkampallil Adv. KT Mathai Memorial All Kerala Invitational Inter-School Basketball Tournament held at the YMCA in Alappuzha.

In the boys' final, favourites St Ephrems drubbed St Joseph's HSS, Pulikunnu, 73-36, with Vinay Sankar and Jeevan K Joby top scoring 15 points each for the winners. In the girls' final, Providence crushed Little Flower HSS Koratty, 82-39. Arthika was the top scorer with 31 points while Devangana added 28 points for the Kozhikode side.

The tournament marked the beginning of Starting Five Challenge programme. It was held as part of YMCA's Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the PS Viswappan Trophy.
