Jakarta: Seasoned campaigner Heena Sidhu won the bronze in women's 10m air pistol at the Asian Games shooting event at Palembang on Friday.
Heena claimed the bronze with an an aggregate of 219.2 points, while teen sensation Manu Bhaker could end up only fifth with a tally of 176.2 in the eight-member final.
China's Qian Wang clinched the gold with a Games record of 240.3. South Korea's Minjung Kim (237.6) took the sliver.
Manu had finished third with an aggregate of 574 in the qualifiers while Heena ended up seventh with a total of 571.
The 28-year-old Heena had won a silver in the same event at the 2010 Asian Games besides picking up a bronze in 25m pistol team competition in the last edition at Incheon.
On Friday, Heena shot a near-perfect 10.8 with just three shooters left in the field but a 9.6 in the next attempt dashed her hopes of a better finish at the Jakabaring Shooting Range.
Having made an incredible comeback after languishing at 13th and 17th places in the qualification stage, Heena did not look content with the eventual third-place finish as she managed to reduce the gap to a mere 0.1 between her and the gold medal.
