Gokulam Kerala posted a thrilling 3-2 win over Sreenidi Deccan in the I-League opener at Hyderabad on Friday.
Sreenidi had taken the lead through Lalromawia in the 40th minute before Martin Chaves equalised on the hour for the Kozhikode-based side.
Ignacio Abeledo put Gokulam ahead in the 85th minute, and substitute Ramdinthara all but confirmed three points with a third goal in the fifth minute of added time.
Sreenidi reduced the deficit a minute later with David Castaneda Munoz getting a goal. However, it wasn't enough for the hosts as Antonio Rueda's side held on to the one-goal advantage.
Sreenidi had finished second, a place above Gokulam, in the last two seasons of the I-League, which is the second division in Indian men's club football.
