Kozhikode: Gokulam Kerala FC squandered a first-half lead to go down to Sreenidi Deccan 1-2 in the I-League here on Sunday.

Nikola Stojanovic handed Gokulam the lead in the 44th minute. However, William Alves de Oliveira drew level for the visitors shortly on resumption of play in the second half. De Oliviera converted a penalty to put Deccan ahead in the 71st minute.

The win took Deccan to second spot behind Mohammedan Sporting Club with 39 points from 19 matches. 

Mohammedan SC, who beat NEROCA 2-0 in an earlier kick-off at Shillong, lead the table with 47 points from 20 games. Eddie Hernandez scored a brace for the Kolkata outfit on either side of the break. 

Gokulam are in fourth place with 36 points from 21 matches. They next host Delhi FC on Saturday (7 pm).
