Uttarakhand's Neelam Bhardwaj, aged 18, became the youngest Indian to smash a double century in a List A match. On Tuesday, the right-hander hit an unbeaten 202 from 137 balls in Uttarakhand's big win over Nagaland in a Senior Women's One Day Trophy match in Ahmedabad.
Neelam hit 27 boundaries and two sixes as Uttarakhand posted a massive 371/2 in 50 overs. In reply, the Nagaland innings folded for 112, giving Uttarakhand a 259-run win. Ekta Bisht claimed a fifer for the winners.
Earlier this year, Shweta Sehrawat smashed a 150-ball 242 to become the first double centurion in Indian women's List A matches. Her power batting helped Delhi post 455/6, and crush Nagaland by a whopping 400 runs.
Former India captain Mithali Raj and current national star Smriti Mandhana have hit double centuries. Smriti hit an unbeaten 224 for Maharashtra U-19 against Gujarat U-19 in 2013-14. Mithali's 214 against England in 2002 is the highest score by an Indian woman in Test cricket.
