India crushed Bangladesh by 86 runs to win the second T20I in Delhi and take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series on Wednesday.

The visitors could not summon the energy to chase India's massive total of 221/9 and ended at 135/9 with Mahmudullah scoring a valiant 41. India had won the first T20I in Gwalior by seven wickets.

Skipper Suryakumar Yadav used seven bowlers, and all of them repaid his trust with wickets. Nitish Kumar Reddy, whose heroics with the bat was the highlight of the match, bagged two wickets as well. Varun Chakravarthy also claimed two wickets as India showed utter dominance.

India would aim for a clean sweep in Hyderabad on Saturday. It has to be seen if Sanju Samson will get another chance to open the innings. He couldn't convert a great start in Gwalior and fell for 29. In Delhi, on conditions that Nitish Kumar Reddy and Rinku Singh later exploited, Sanju fell for 10.

Surya had looked untroubled when Najmul Shanto won the toss. But he soon had cause for concern with the score reading 25/2. It got worse when Surya fell cheaply, attempting to drive a slow bowl from Mustafizur Rahman.

But then came the rescue act that soon turned into a counterattack as Nitish and Rinku launched sixes at will to get India back in control. Reddy smashed seven sixes in his 34-ball 74 while Rinku made 53 off 29.

Brief scores: India 221/9 in 20 overs (Nitish Kumar Reddy 75, Rinku Singh 53, Hardik Pandya 32, Rishad Hossain 3/55, Taskin Ahmed 2/16, Mustafizur Rahman 2/36, Tanzim Hasan Sakib 2/50) bt Bangladesh 135/9 in 20 overs (Mahmudullah 41, Varun Chakravarthy 2/19, Nitish 2/23)
