Sylhet: Kerala all-rounder S Sajana made her debut in the first Twenty20 International (T20I) against  Bangladesh here on Sunday. The 29-year-old from Mananthavady in Wayanad district became the second Keralite after Minnu Mani to appear in a women's T20I. Minnu had made her debut against Bangladesh last year.

Sajana broke into the Indian team following an impressive campaign for Mumbai Indians in the second edition of the Women's Premier League. Sajana is a hard-hittng batter and a handy off-spinner.

India won the match by 44 runs to go one up in the five-match series. Sajana, who came in at No. 6, made a run-a-ball 11. The right-hander hit two fours before falling to leg-spinner Rabeya Khan.

Another Keralite Asha Sobhana, who is in the squad, was  left out of the series opener. Asha is a leg-spinning all-rounder.
