Thiruvanathapuram: Kerala thrashed Delhi by an innings and 27 runs in their Ranji Trophy Elite Group B match here on Sunday.

Delhi, who were starting down the barrel, were bundled out for 154 in the second innings on the third day as Kerala completed a famous win.

Kerala, who won seven points including a bonus point for the innings win, have 20 points from six matches and occpy the top spot in the group.

Delhi, who resumed their second innings on 41/5, lost their captain Dhruv Shorey to off-spinner Jalaj Saxena. Anuj Rawat (31) was the next to fall to the guile of Saxena as Delhi slipped to 83/7.

Shivam Sharma (33) and Subodh Bati (30) delayed the inevitable with a 54-run stand for the eighth wicket. Left-arm spinner Sijomon Joseph castled Bati to end the fighting stand.

Saxena removed Sharma and Sijomon wrapped up the win by accounting for No. 11 Akash Sudan (4).

Saxena ended up with match figures of 9/80.

Kerala next play Punjab at Chandigarh from December 30.

Brief scores: Kerala 320 bt Delhi 139 and 154 in 41 overs (Sandeep Warrier 3/39, Jalaj Saxena 3/49).

Points: Kerala 7; Delhi 0.
