Thrissur: A man killed a 55-year-old woman in Thrissur on Monday by slitting her throat. The deceased, Sindhu, who was alone at home, was brutally attacked by the man who forcibly entered her house, murdered her throat and stole her gold ornaments.
The accused is Kannan, a resident of Muthuvara.
Manikandan, Sindhu's husband, had stepped out to purchase household items when the incident took place, police said. The primary investigation indicates a possible robbery attempt gone wrong, the police added.
Although the accused attempted to flee the scene, local residents caught him near Cheeramkulam with the gold ornaments in his possession and handed him over to the police.
