Fire safety NoC and renewal rates hiked in Kerala, 15% rise for pumping & standby duty fee for films

The fire and rescue services department has hiked the fees for building NoC (no objection certificate), annual renewal and other services. The rates were earlier hiked in 2022.
For buildings under the residential category, the minimum fee has been hiked by 9.9%. The revised minimum fee for issuing NoC to flats will be Rs 20,000. There will be a 15% hike in the revised fee/ sq m for hotels (up to 16 metres in height) to get fire safety NoC, as per the new rates. The rate has been revised from Rs 34.73/ sq m to Rs 40/ sq m. The fee for NoC of institutional and assembly buildings has been hiked by 7%.
For the renewal of NoC, there won't be any change for educational and residential buildings having heights up to 16 metres. There will be a 20% hike in renewing NoC for educational buildings with heights above 16 metres and up to 30 metres and residential buildings above 16 metres and up to 35 metres.
There will be a 15% hike in fees for fire engine standby duties for public functions like exhibitions, fairs, carnivals and conferences, which are not run for profit and where profit earned is used for charitable purposes. It will now cost Rs 7,000 per day for fire engine standby duty for these events. For public functions run for profit by the organizer, the fee will be Rs 14000/day for 24 hours or less.
For cinematographic purposes, the rate has been hiked by 15.2%. Pumping works for cinematographic purposes will now cost Rs 21000/day. The rates for ambulance standby duty have also been revised. The rate would be Rs 300/hour for public functions, subject to a minimum of Rs 750 and a maximum of Rs 3000 per day.
