Alappuzha: The Vallikunnam Police have arrested a 19-year-old woman for sexually harassing a 16-year-old boy. Police said the two were relatives. They said the woman was a native of Chavara Sankaramangalam Kumbala.

They developed a relationship when the woman was living in the boys' house. According to sources, the woman's parents put her up with the teen's family after discovering her relationship with another youth.

According to police, the woman persuaded the boy to go out with her after they started developing a relationship. As per the boy's statement to the police, the girl took him to various places and sexually harassed him. It is learnt that the two went to Mysore, Palakad, Palani, and Malappuram.

The police have charged the accused under sections 137(2) of BNS, 3(A), 45(L), 6(1), 7, 8, 9(NL) and section 10 of the Prevention of Children From Sexual Offences Act (POSCO) and section 84 of Juvenile Justice Act.

The accused was presented before the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court at Haripad and was remanded to Kottarakkara sub-jail, police said.
