Kochi: The police have confirmed that the murder of six-year-old Muskan in Kothamangalam had no connection to black magic. Investigations revealed that the crime was not influenced by Noushad, a sorcerer based in Kothamangalam. The police stated that the stepmother, Aneesha, committed the act to get rid of the child because she was not her biological daughter.
The suspicion of a link between the sorcerer Noushad and the stepmother led to the initial assumption that the murder was connected to black magic. Following this, Noushad was interrogated for hours by the police. However, Noushad allegedly stayed in touch with Aneesh as part of exorcism efforts. The police confirmed that Noushad had no involvement in the murder. Aneesha carried out the crime by herself to eliminate the child.
On Thursday morning, the body of six-year-old Muskan, the daughter of a migrant labourer, was found inside her home in Nellikkuzhi, Kothamangalam. The child’s father, Uttar Pradesh native Ajaz Khan, his second wife, Aneesha and her sister were at the house. Aneesha reportedly smothered the child to death while the father was away the previous night.
Initially, the family claimed that the child had gone to bed after dinner but didn’t wake up the next day. However, the post-mortem confirmed it was a case of murder. Upon questioning both the father and Aneesha, the police found that the woman was responsible for the murder. She was arrested following this. Ajaz Khan had married Aneesha, a native of Uttar Pradesh, and brought her to Nellikkuzhi a few months ago after separating from his first wife.
