A 13-year-old boy tragically drowned in a pond near his home at Thanneermukkom, Alappuzha, on Thursday morning. The deceased, Aryajith, is the son of Valayil Ratheesh and Seema. He went to the pond with friends to bathe when the incident occurred.

Sources from the Muhamma police confirmed that the tragedy occurred because the boy did not know how to swim.
The body has been moved to the mortuary and will be handed over to the family after a post-mortem at the Alappuzha Medical College Hospital.
