Kozhikode: A 54-year-old mason died after slipping and falling into a well adjacent to a wall of a house which was under construction in Chorode. The deceased is Aruvayil Tharemmal Jayaraj, from Kottakkal in Vadakara. 

The well was only partially covered with a cement slab, the worker fell through the open part, police said. The accident occurred when he was cementing the layered stones on the first floor of the house owned by Chekkalankandy Riyas.

The Vadakara Fire Force reached the spot and recovered the body from the well. The body will be handed over to the family after an autopsy at Vadakara Government Hospital, officials said.
