Alappuzha: An unidentified body was found on the coast of Andhakaranazhi here on Tuesday morning. The severely decomposed body was found within the jurisdiction of the Arthunkal Coastal police station. Circle Inspector GB Mukesh told Onmanorama that there were no visible injuries to the limbs or skull of the deceased.

Based on forensic analysis, the CI suggested that the cause of death might have been drowning. He added that there have been no reports of missing persons within the coastal police station's jurisdiction. Due to the advanced state of decomposition, it is currently impossible to determine the sex of the body and DNA testing will be required for identification.

The CI noted that identifying the deceased would likely depend on DNA tests conducted on relatives of missing persons reported at other police stations.
