Changanassery: Director P Balachandrakumar, who made revelations against actor Dileep in the 2017 actor assault case, passed away on Friday. He was 62. He died at a private hospital in Chengannur at 5.40 am today after battling kidney and heart-related ailments. His body will be taken to Thiruvananthapuram.

Balachandrakumar directed the Malayalam film Cowboy, which was released in 2013. The director had revealed that actor Dileep had a copy of the footage showing the assault on the actor, which was allegedly in the possession of the first accused, Sunil Kumar (Pulsar Suni). He also disclosed that Dileep and the first accused, Pulsar Suni, had close ties. Balachandrakumar further claimed that Dileep had conspired to influence the investigation. The final arguments in the actress assault case are currently ongoing in court.
