Three held for gold chain theft case in Alappuzha

Alappuzha: Poochakal police arrested three men in connection with the theft of a gold chain on Friday. The accused are Thottukandathil Nikhil (26), Thekanath Johny Joseph (25), and Kallunkal Veliyil Vishnu Prasad (28).
The case pertains to the alleged theft of a two-sovereign gold chain from Thottukandathil Udayakumar of Manappuram. According to the police, suspicions regarding Nikhil's involvement in the theft arose during the investigation.
Upon detailed questioning, Nikhil confessed to committing the theft with Johny Joseph's assistance. Further investigation revealed that Vishnu Prasad attempted to sell the stolen chain at a financial institution in Poochakal.
Poochakal Circle Inspector (CI) P S Subramanium told Onmanorama that the accused were presented before the Judicial First-Class Magistrate Court in Cherthala and were remanded to judicial custody.
