Malappuram: Snubbed by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's insinuating remarks, Nilambur MLA P V Anvar turned the tables on CPM and Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday, saying that the High Court remains his sole resort now. Anvar even mimicked Pinarayi's scoffing laugh and said that the CM was merely parroting the script prepared by ADGP (Law & Order) M R Ajith Kumar.

During the press conference held on September 21, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan swept aside Anvar's allegations against political secretary P Sasi and ADGP Ajith Kumar. He said that Sasi was doing an exemplary job and that ADGP would not be booted out. When asked if Anvar acted on behalf of gold smugglers, Pinarayi implicitly replied that if the media had such a notion, they should not expect him to respond. On Anvar's allegations about how police kept a portion of the smuggled gold it confiscated, the CM quoted a police report to explain the weight loss. He even added that it was natural that smugglers wanted to discredit police.

Anwar made no attempts to hide his displeasure over CM's remarks. " The statement by CM caused me so much damage. Now I am being treated like the guilty person. I expected the party to correct CM. The party did not issue a statement. I had rested my hopes on the party," he said.

Anvar said he planned to approach the Kerala High Court after his complaints to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan regarding Political Secretary P Sasi and ADGP (Law & Order) M R Ajith Kumar were not properly addressed. "The CM’s response to my concerns was unsatisfactory, and he has made me an accused to protect himself. He was merely reading from a script prepared by Ajith Kumar," Anvar said.

He also criticised the Left-led government’s investigations into the smuggling cases, the tree-felling case, and the Ridan murder, claiming they are not progressing in the right direction. Anvar expressed his frustration, stating that the probe into the complaints he submitted to the Chief Minister regarding the party secretary was being mishandled.

"People think that I am not walking according to the party's instructions. See, nowadays, even party leaders can’t approach the police with common citizens’ issues. If anyone claims to be a Communist, they will receive two more slaps at the police station. P Sasi is responsible for this situation," Anvar asserted.

Anvar made these remarks during a press conference at the PWD rest house in Nilambur, Malappuram, despite a request from the CPM state secretariat asking him to refrain from making statements against the party and the state government. He also showed videos to back his allegations of police fraud in handling gold smuggling cases.

Earlier in a social media post, Anvar said, "Self-esteem always takes precedence over beliefs, allegiances, and temporality. And I am someone who has a little too much of that virtue in me. It is said that when denied justice, you have to become fire." In a press conference held after the state secretariat on Wednesday, CPM state secretary M V Govindan, who extended full support to the chief minister's political secretary, P Sasi had expressed his displeasure with Anvar's actions. After this press briefing, Anvar took to social media to write about loyalty and self-respect.

Anvar recently held a series of press conferences where he made serious allegations against P Sasi, a close confidant of CM Pinarayi Vijayan, and ADGP (Law & Order) M R Ajith Kumar. The Chief Minister has already expressed his displeasure with Anvar's actions, stating that the Left-backed MLA should have approached the party or the CM before going to the media.
