Pathanamthitta: A man was arrested after he hacked his parents to death in Thiruvalla on Thursday.

Krishnankutty (78) and Sarada (68) were found dead in their house situated near Parumala Krishnavilasam School.

The accused Anilkumar, also known as Kochumon (50), was arrested. 

The bodies will be sent for postmortem after the forensic examination.

As per reports, Anilkumar attacked his parents around 8.30 am. Neighbours who rushed to the spot after hearing the commotion informed the police.

Severely wounded in the neck and stomach, both Krishnankutty and Sarada died on the spot.

Anilkumar threatened to attack those gathered with the knife he used to murder his parents when police arrived to arrest him. 

Based on preliminary reports, it was a family feud that led to Anilkumar committing the heinous crime.
