Kattappana: Amid COVID, a farmer got his daughter married by taking her to the wedding venue in Wayanad by helicopter.

Babychan of Akkattumundayil house at Chettukuzhi near Vandanmedu brought his daughter Maria Luca to Wayanad, for her wedding with to Kakuzhi Vaishakh of Pullapally, aboard a chopper.

Babychan and his wife Lizzie, along with the bride, left for Wayanad by helicopter from Amayar on Monday morning. Relatives reached Wayanad by road on Sunday morning and attended the wedding.

The marriage was planned in May but it could not take place due to the COVID lockdown and had to be postponed.

The challenge was the 14-hour journey to Wayanad and the problems caused by COVID. Babychan then decided to rent a helicopter at a cost of around Rs 4.5 lakh.
