Kochi: Seven friends of late actor Kalabhavan Mani will undergo polygraph test as part of a probe being conducted by the CBI into his suspicious death. They are Jafar Idukki, Sabumon, Joby Sebastian, C A Arun, M G Vipin, K C Murugan and Anil Kumar.
The seven appeared before the court on Friday to get its approval for the test to which they had agreed to earlier. All of them individually replied in the affirmative to the court’s question if they were ready to take the test.
The polygraph is seen as a measure to bring the case to its natural conclusion. The Ernakulam Chief Magistrate Court is overseeing the inquiry. A verdict will be pronounced on the CBI's appeal on February 12.
Popular actor Kalabhavan Mani was found exhausted in his outhouse 'Padi' after vomiting blood on March 5, 2016. He died at a private hospital in Ernakulam the next day. Rumours of him being poisoned have been doing the rounds since then.
Several close associates of Mani were earlier questioned by the local police and the CBI subsequently.
Jafar Idukki and Sabumon are actors.
