Harippad: Edwin and Arathi have just proved that love is invincible. The couple has swam against the current to be with each other just in time for Christmas a month after marriage. In between the bride was taken away by her family members in a bid to make her forget Edwin. However, Arathi freed herself from the clutches of her family and rejoined Edwin on Christmas Day.
Edwin from Harippad took to Facebook Live a month ago to tell the world that his wife has been kidnapped by her family in cahoots with the police. Edwin went to the Nagercoil police station in search of Arathi but she had been shifted elsewhere. He was told that she was in Chennai. He kept searching for Arathi every place her folks could have taken her to.
Desperate, he approached the court for relief. The court ordered to produce Arathi the day the court would take up the petition in January. In the meantime, he received a call from Arathi. He was relieved that his sweetheart was safe. On Tuesday, she was happy to see her in person.
Edwin said that Arathi had been locked up in her house for a month. “They forced her to erase my name tattooed on her hand. They did whatever they could to distance her from me. She somehow escaped them and came to me. I will produce Arathi before the court on the appointed day,” he said.
Edwin and Arathi fell in love while they were studying at an engineering college in Tamil Nadu. They saw each other for two years and decided to get married but Arathi's rich parents were against the alliance.
Edwin and Arathi registered their marriage on November 16 and went to his house at Harippad. Her parents instigated the local police to act against the couple. Cops told Edwin that Arathi was facing a case at Nagercoil and she would be produced before the magistrate.
