Kollam: Veteran actor Geetha Salam passed away in Alappuzha on Wednesday. He was 73.

A native of Memana near Ochira, Salam had been undergoing treatment for respiratory ailments for sometime. He breathed his last at the Alappuzha Medical College Hospital around 3.30 pm.

The burial will be held at Ochira Vadakke Jumaat Kabarsthan at 10 am on Thursday.

Salam has acted in 88 films and a number of dramas. He started his career as a theatre artist after quitting government service. Vellimoonga, Malabar Wedding, Kochi Rajavu, Jalolsavam and Gramaphone are a few of his noted films. He has also acted in some television serials.
