Rahul Easwar does a U-turn after revealing plan to foil young women's entry

Spill blood for Sabrimala: Rahul Easwar's U-turn in 24 hours
On Wednesday, Rahul had told mediapersons that a group of 20 volunteers were ready to desecrate the shrine spilling their blood, which would force the tantri to close the temple for 3 days.

Kochi: A day after making the controversial revelation of a plan to desecrate the sanctum sanctorum of Sabarimala to stop women of child-bearing age from entering the hill shrine, Ayyappa Dharma Sena president Rahul Easwar made a volte-face on Thursday.

In a social media post, Rahul, leading the stir against women's entry to the temple, denied having any role in the plan.

On Wednesday, Rahul had told mediapersons that a group of 20 volunteers were ready to desecrate the shrine spilling their blood, which would force the tantri to close the temple for 3 days. However, on Thursday, Rahul alleged that Kerala Minister for Devaswom Kadakampally Surendran is trying to get him arrested again by giving malicious spin to his words.

"I had only said that 20 people were standing ready to do it. But, I advised them against it," Rahul said in a live video posted on his Facebook page.

Earlier, Kadakampally called Rahul a loudmouth and said it was a conspiracy that came out through him.

He also said that the government considers this as a conspiracy to trigger a riot at the Sannidhanam and not as a slip of the tongue from Rahul.
