Kottayam: Now, a 'Me Too' allegation has been raised against Malayalam actor and Kerala legislator Mukesh.

Bollywood casting director Tess Joseph posted the allegation against actor-turned-politician on social media Tuesday.

The director said the incident happened 19 years ago when she was working for a Malayalam TV programme 'Kodeeshwaran' hosted by Mukesh.

The actor constantly phoned her on to the hotel room and he even asked the hotel staff to change her room beside his, she alleged. "One night when the calls where never ending I stayed in my colleague room," she told in a Twitter post.

She said that she was the lone woman in the team. When one of the Twitter users asked her if it was indeed the actor from Kerala, she confirmed by posting his photo.

Mukesh has denied the allegations. The actor on Wednesday said that said the casting director's charge be a case of misunderstanding.

He said he does not remember the woman who raised the allegations. He said nowadays, anyone can defame any person.

Protests staged

The Youth Congress and the BJP activists on Tuesday took pout protest marches against Mukesh in Kollam. The protesters also burnt Mukesh in effigy.

CPM's stance


CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said he would examine the legal aspects of the issue. "Lots of allegations are raised these days. All of them need not be trues," he said.

P K Sreemathi MP said she would react after studying the issue while CPI(M) Kollam district unit said the issue has not come to its notice.

Recently, Malayalam actress KPAC Lalitha too joined the 'Me Too' campaign when she raised harassment allegations against actor Adoor Bhasi. Lalitha further said although she complained about the harassment to actor K P Ummer, who was the president of the artistes’ association, he blamed her instead and asked her to remain silent.

Bollywood was rocked with 'Me too' allegations after actress Tanushree Dutta raised a sexual harassment charge against veteran actor Nana Patekar. Dutta in an interview had alleged that Nana Patekar misbehaved with her while filming a special song for 'Horn Ok Pleassss' in 2008.
