Konni: The people of Injappara in Pathanamthitta district are worried that the crusher mafia has set their eyes on the cave complex called Rakshasanpara which has been associated with many legends. They are wary that the crusher unit, which has secured a license from the administrative council of the Kalanjur panchayat, would soon start operations on this pristine land.

The people believe that the kilometers long rock complexes, which include Pulipara, Thattupara, Kuavan–Kurathipara and Rakshasanpara, would be completely destroyed in  rock blasting. The place holds a significant position in the culture and history of the area, and is a storehouse of a variety of rare flora and fauna, locals stated.

The residents have also realised the importance of securing the animal species in their natural habitat.
