Picnic turns into tragedy for Keralite woman in Atlanta The accident took place at Augusta while Ancy (inset) was taking her children from their residence at Atlanta to the beach in South Carolina .

Kochi: A Keralite woman travelling with her family on a leisure trip died in a road accident at Atlanta in the US. The victim was Ancy Jose (43) of Vikas Lane, PMG Junction in Thiruvananthapuram. She was a business and marketing analyst for Asia region at Bio IVT Company, Atlanta.

The car in which the family was travelling rear-ended a trailer truck and Ancy died on the spot. Her daughter Navomi, who suffered serious injuries, has been admitted to hospital. However, Ancy’s two other children Ana and Eva escaped with minor injuries. Ancy’s funeral will take place at Atlanta on Saturday at 10 am local time.

Ancy is the wife of Vinod, belonging to Villoth, Kadavanthra in Ernakulam, who is a director of web development section at Long Island University, New York.

The accident took place at Augusta while Ancy was taking her children from their residence at Atlanta to the beach in South Carolina early on May 24. The car was completely damaged in the accident.

Meanwhile, Navomi who is in the ICU is out of danger. She is the twin sister of Ana.

Ancy was scheduled to travel to India on an official trip on June 5. After hearing about the tragedy, Ancy’s parents Thomas V Jose and Laly have reached the US.

Ancy and Vinod are permanent residents of the US.
