Hadiya leaves for Malappuram with husband Shafin Jahan Hadiya, Shafin Jahan

Salem: Hadiya, whose marriage to Shafin Jahan was restored by the Supreme Court, started for Malappuram along with her husband on Friday. After Shafin reached the private homoeo college in Salem where Hadiya is studying, she applied for three days' leave and went to her hostel room. Soon, they together set off from Salem.

Earlier, addressing the media, Hadiya thanked all those who supported her during the trying times. “I have told everything to the court. But I have more to say. I will be meeting the media after reaching Kerala,” she said.

Regarding her future plans, Hadiya said that she would like to continue her studies at the college in Salem. “The Tamil Nadu police have given good protection to me,” Hadiya added.

“It was no coincidence that the Supreme Court order in my favour was issued on the Women’s Day. This will serve to empower all women,” she said.

When Hadiya had reached the college at 8.45 am on Friday, she had refused to speak to the media. She came out with her reaction to the apex court order while going out of the college at 10.30 am.
