It was for the first time Sunil Kumar and his gang were subjected to normal parole arrangements without any police escort.

They had been provided with strong police escort during the period of the leave previously. The arrangements made for them earlier was similar to paroles granted in an emergency in which the convicts would be under police escort round-the-clock and they are required to be lodged in a jail during the night.

Sunil Kumar and Manoj Kumar were granted parole for 15 and 30 days respectively. The three, including Anoop, are housed in cells that are close to each other in the ‘B’ Block at the Viyyur Central Jail.
