RMPI blames CPM for attacks on cadres in Kerala RMP will hold protests at district and taluk levels in Kerala on International Women's Day on March 8 against 'harassment' of K K Rema.

Thane: The central committee of the Revolutionary Marxist Party of India (RMPI) on Monday said criminal gangs at the behest of CPM leaders have unleashed "murderous attacks" on the party activists and leaders in Kerala.

RMPI chairman K Gangadharan also accused the Pinarayi Vijayan-led LDF government in Kerala of failing to take cognizance of the attack.

Gangadharan and other leaders of the RMPI addressed a press conference here on the concluding day of the two-day national meet of the party's central committee.

"Criminal gangs at the behest of CPM leaders have launched a series of murderous attacks on leaders and workers of the RMPI in Onchyam (in Kozhikode district) as they wanted to attack the democratic political functioning across the country," he said.

Gangadharan alleged that the ruling Pinarayi Vijayan government was not taking notice of such attacks.

He announced staging of a dharna outside the CPM office in Delhi on February 21 to protest the "attacks and the constant harassment of K K Rama, the widow of slain comrade T P Chandrashekharan".

He said rallies will also be held on Wednesday in various states to express solidarity with Rama and the RMPI cadres in Kerala.

Gangadharan also said that protests will be held at district and taluk levels in Kerala on International Women's Day on March 8 against "harassment" of Rama.

Chandrashekharan, the rebel Marxist leader, was hacked to death in 2012 in Kozhikode district.

RMPI general secretary Mangat Ram Pasala said they will hold protests across Maharashtra on March 25 against execution of proposed projects like the Western Corridor, Bullet Train, and Samruddhi Communication Highway.
