Thiruvananathapuram: Manorama News has bagged three awards at the state television awards. ‘Choonduviral’ directed by Abgeoth Varghese was selected as the best educational program. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 10,000 for direction and Rs 15,000 for production. Abgeoth has also won awards for best children's program (Rs 15,000 each for direction and production) and best documentary in the women and children’s category (Rs 10,000 for direction and Rs 15,000 for production).

The Kerala Chalachitra Academy picks the winners of the award for the ministry of cultural affairs. 'D For Dance Season 3' aired on Mazhavil Manorama won a special mention by the jury.
