Thiruvananthapuram: In his latest statement to the police, Cadell Jeanson Raja, the sole suspect in the Nanthancode killings, said he murdered his family out of hatred for his father.
Cadell told the police that his father often engaged in lewd conversations with women over the phone. Though Cadell asked his mother to intervene, she paid no heed. Cadell then plotted to kill his parents. Cadell had earlier said that he hated his father for cruelly neglecting him.
In an even more bizarre statement, a 'compassionate' and 'thougtful' Cadell said he decided to murder his younger sister and aunt too as they would be left alone without his parents.

He looked up the Internet on committing murders and practiced using a dummy. He broke down during questioning, investigators said.
Cadell has been constantly changing his statements and giving different reasons for the gruesome killings. The accused, who led a secluded life with no friends or social life, got influenced by seemingly esoteric ideas and occultism.

The bodies of retired professor Rajthankam, 60; his wife, C. Jean Padma, 58, a retired doctor; their daughter Carolyn, 25; and relative Lalitha, 70; were found mutilated and charred in their multi-storey house at Nanthencode early on Sunday. The police had also recovered a half-burnt dummy from the house.
