New Delhi: National Testing Agency (NTA) has refuted reports that a candidate who failed in NEET exams got high marks in revaluation.

NTA director general Dr Vineet Joshi said the report was fake and a case has been registered with the Noida police in this connection. 

It was disclosed in the report that Mridul Rawat, a resident of Rajasthan had secured 329 marks in the NEET exams. However, he gave a complaint and in the re-evaluation secured 650 marks and also became the all India topper among Scheduled Tribes. 

Earlier results suggested that Mridul Rawat, from Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan, initially received only 329 marks out of 720. 

The certificate issued by the NAT and other documents were out in the public domain, stirring a major controversy.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) had declared the results of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2020 on their official website – ntaneet.nic.in, on October 16. 

Originally scheduled for April and May this year, the NEET exam was finally conducted on September 13 after been postponed on several occasions on account of the coronavirus outbreak.
