The rank list for admissions to Engineering/Pharmacy courses through Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) 2020 entrance examination was announced by the Higher Education Minister K T Jaleel on Thursday.
A total of 53,236 candidates were selected in the Engineering rank list. The first, second and third ranks were secured by Varun K S (Kottayam), Gokul Govind TK (Kannur) and Niyasmon (Malappuram) respectively.
Out of the selected candidates, 27,733 were girls and 25,503 were boys. 37,124 candidates came from Kerala syllabus, 14,468 from CBSE, 1,206 from ICSE and 438 from other syllabus.
In the first 5000 ranks, a total of 2280 students came from the Kerala syllabus and 2477 came from CBSE.
Thiruvanthapuram secured 21 ranks in the first 100 list. Kottayam and Malappuram secured 19 and 18 ranks respectively.
Pharmacy rank list
In the pharmacy rank list, 47,081 students were selected. Three girls secured a spot in the top 10 and 58 girls secured a spot in the top 100. Seven boys secured a spot in the top 10 and 42 boys secured a spot in the top 100.
Akshay K Muraleedharan (Thrissur), Joel James (Kasaragod), Aditya Baiju (Kollam) secured the first, second and third ranks respectively in the pharmacy exam.
KEAM 2020 was held across the state and in centres in Mumbai, New Delhi and Dubai on July 16, following COVID-19 protocol.
Around 71,742 students had written the KEAM. From this, 56,599 students have qualified under the engineering stream. While 52,145 students had opted for the pharmacy course and attempted the first paper alone, 44,390 have qualified.
Candidates who have qualified in the KEAM (engineering) had submitted the marks obtained by them in the qualifying examination (Plus Two or equivalent) for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Computer Science/Biotechnology/Biology.
