Hyundai Nexo set to wow India with 1,000 km range

Shortly after launching India's first long-range electric vehicle, Hyundai is set bring another alternative fuel car to the country. It is planning to launch its hydrogen-powered SUV, the Nexo, next.
The Korean carmaker will be looking at launching Nexo by 2021. The hydrogen fuel cell car will be able to boast of a range of 1,000 km. The car that is currently sold in Korea has a range of 800 km. However, it will be optimised to deliver 1,000 km, said Hyundai Motor India’s managing director and CEO S S Kim.
Hyundai is also planning to bring several green cars to India after Kona. The line-up could include several electric and hybrid cars.
Hyundai claims that Nexo will be the cleanest car in the world where the only emission is clean water. The five-door Nexo will be powered by an electric motor that produces 163 ps of power and 395Nm of torque with a 0-100kmph time of 9.2 seconds.
The capacity of the hydrogen tank is 163 litres and Hyundai claims that it only takes five minutes to refuel. The Nexo is a great looking car with an excellent grille, day-time running lights, and two 12.3-inch LED screens in the interior. Key features include highway driving assistance and remote parking assistance. The price tag of Nexo in Korea is around Rs 42 lakh.
