Liva Limited Edition: Extending Toyota's winning streak
Mail This Article
It is said that if there is the logo of Toyota on the bonnet, then there is nothing to worry about the vehicle. Toyota has made this sterling reputation across the world over decades. The largest car maker in the world has made a name for itself in India too on the same bullet-proof reliability front.
Limited edition
The Japanese auto giant is in the news with its Etios Liva limited edition. Liva is not a new car but the limited edition comes with a host of cosmetic updates that gives it a sporty look. After the recent facelift, the new changes give it a new life.
Etios series
Toyota's Etios series are available in India since 2011. After selling four lakh vehicles, both Eitos and Liva are continuing their success march. The limited edition is also a celebration of this success.
Hot Streak
Toyota calls the limited edition Liva ‘Hot Streak’. The main attraction of Hot Streak is the red and black dual-tone grille, red front fog bezel, red door handles and red garnish on the boot with decals on the sides. The limited edition model will be available in a white and black dual-tone exterior colour but with red accents all around.
Black & white
The car is available in one exterior colour - super white. The roof is painted black and makes a whole lot of a difference in look. The grille is in red and black dual-tone, flog lamps have a chrome base and carbon fiber finish. It also features a sporty roof spoiler. The wing mirror can be shut and open from inside.
Black beauty
Instead of beige, Toyota has gone with black inside. But red accents are seen on the dash, and the gear knob and AC vents too get a red finish. The three-spoke steering wheel looks sporty. Other features include 6.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, audio controls on the steering wheel, a piano-black instrument cluster and big comfortable seats. The headrests in the back are removable.
Safety first
Liva Hot Streak is equipped with dual front airbags, ABS-EBD, three-point emergency locking retractor system for all five seats belts, pre-tensioner and force limiter front seat belts, and child seat lock.
Comfortable ride
Five people can travel comfortably in Liva. The doors are large, and the interiors provide more than enough head room. For the convenience of the passenger who will be sitting in the middle of the back seat, the platform is flat.
Storage
The glove box has a 13-litre capacity. Besides, there are enough slots for water bottles, glasses and mobile phones. The boot can accommodate 251 litres of luggage. Open a flap to make the glove box cooled.
Engine
The 1.2-litre 1197cc, four-cylinder petrol engine churns out 79 bhp of power at 5600 rpm and a peak torque of 104 Nm at 3100 rpm. Short gearing and decent torque provide enough power in every gear. The 1364 cc, four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 68 bhp of peak power quietly goes about its duty and can put to shame any big car in driveability. Enough power and torque are always available at hand.
Mileage
Both the petrol and diesel engines are fuel-efficient. While diesel provides 23.59 km per litre, the petrol motor offers 18.16 mileage.
Qualis
Toyota came to India by launching its tried and tested Qualis. The quality that we came to know through Qualis has been retained by Etios, Liva and all other Toyota vehicles. Even after driving lakhs of kilometres, they are as good as new.
Price
The price for the petrol variant begins from Rs 6.57 lakh, while the diesel will be available for Rs 7.72 lakh ex-showroom.
