‘Hand of God’ in Muthirapuzha River draws hundreds

The recent floods have not just left sights of devastation across the state, but some curious and scintillating ones as well. After the deluge when water receded in the Muthirapuzha River in Munnar, a rock which appeared on the surface left people in the locality baffled.

The rock which appears in the shape of a human hand has five fingers, and is seen near the Kochi – Dhanushkodi Bypass Bridge at Munnar. The locals call it the ‘hand of God’ which according to some has saved Munnar from further devastation the floods.

However, another group is of the opinion that strong undercurrents may have altered an already existing rock into the shape of a human hand.

This extraordinary piece of ‘art’ by nature is drawing hundreds of people to flood hit Munnar every day. The picture of this rock has already become viral on the social media with more people joining in with their unique theories of its origin.
