Taylor Swift's Singapore concert: What happened to her health?
Mail This Article
Singer Taylor Swift recently performed in Singapore as part of her Eras tour, but her fans are worried after she had a coughing spell at the event. The 14-time Grammy winner's performance was interrupted time and again with her throat-clearing and coughing, and many noticed her sickly appearance too in a recent TikTok video. Many speculations are doing the rounds on what might have affected her usually mellifluous voice. While some people said on social media that the drastic weather change seems to have affected her, others opined that she needs some rest. She has a total of six performances in Singapore till March 9.
Flu or Covid-19?
The previous leg of the 34-year-old singer's tour was in Australia, where many people were affected by the flu. Many speculate that fans who went to the Sydney show caught Covid-19 and so it's likely that Taylor too contracted it. At the same time, Taylor's team is known for keeping her in a strict 'bubble' post pandemic, to avoid the risk of her getting sick under any circumstances. The incident has also sparked debates and discussions on the kind of pressures performers face to stage their shows, even when they are unwell.
Shortness of breath at Rio Concert
Last year too, her fans aka 'Swifties' were worried when Taylor appeared to be struggling to breathe during a concert in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, which was experiencing a heatwave. While performing in the stifling heat, she even threw some water bottles into the crowd for her fans.
