Shihabudeen is a teacher by profession. He built his dream home in the countryside of Wandoor in Malappuram, Kerala by retaining his old house that is filled with special memories. The distinctive shape of the elevation is what makes this contemporary abode stand apart. Moreover, the exteriors don unique looks from all sides.
The house designed in the shape of 'H' has been divided into private and public zones. This unique design has been adapted to suit the uneven layout of the plot. The sloping green bed that gives you direct access to the upper floor is the most amazing feature.
Designed in 3450 sqft, this beautiful house has a car porch, sit-out, living area, kitchen with a work area, four bedrooms and a balcony.
Long sit-outs on both sides are supported by exquisitely carved teak wood pillars. Meanwhile, the interiors are arranged in the open style to ensure excellent cross ventilation. Besides, the UPVC sliding windows let in lots of cool air, making the spaces comfortable. The open space between the dining and the living areas is an interesting feature. The dining area is quite simple with a basic glass table and matching wooden chairs.
The staircase has walls on both sides instead of the hand railings. Meanwhile, the high ceiling and arched windows fill the interiors with natural sunshine and air.
The upper living area isn’t surrounded by concrete walls; instead, it is separated by hand railings in wood and metal rods.
There are three bedrooms on the ground floor and one bedroom on the upper floor. The bedrooms are quite simple with attached bathrooms and wardrobes for storage.
The family is joyous that their brand-new house looks different from other houses in the neighbourhood.
