Building a house of one’s own is often the dream of most Malayali families. Sujith, his wife Neethu and their two kids who recently moved into their brand-new house are elated that they have fulfilled their long-cherished dream. The splendid mansion built in 3500 sqft stands in a sprawling one and half acres of land on the banks of Thodupuzha river in Idukki, Kerala.
Space was never a concern for the designers as the plot is extremely vast. So, a fabulous landscape too has been designed to complement the amazing look of the elevation. The driveway paved with natural stones and tiles is neat and elegant. Besides this, beautiful flowering plants and verdant meadows adorn the aesthetic landscape. The walkway that cuts through the meadows adds a regal charm to the front yard.
A fusion of contemporary style and tropical features has been adopted to suit the weather conditions of the region. The sloped roof in multiple layers is the highlight of the elevation. Meanwhile, the car porch, which is a miniature of the elevation is built away from the structure.
The majestic mansion has a car porch, sit-out, formal and family living areas, dining space, courtyard, kitchen with a work area, five bath attached bedrooms and a gym too. The huge idol of Lord Ganesha in the pooja space right at the entrance area and the nearby fountain with a Buddha figurine fill the interiors with positive vibes.
The formal living area also acts as a gateway to the rest of the house. This area adorned with a classic combination of timber finish and white colour grants a regal charm. Meanwhile, the windows in the rooms on the right side of the house open to the scintillating views of the lake.
A quaint breakfast counter is what separates the compact kitchen from the dining area. Meanwhile, a work area too has been added close to the modern kitchen that opens to the hall.
The minimal yet stylish designer elements make the interiors extremely chic and cosy. The family’s friends and relatives vow that the mansion which is built to enjoy the enchanting beauty of the Thodupuzha Lake has the perfect ambience of a luxury resort.
