Haridas has built his brand-new house at the 20 cents plot that he had purchased in his hometown in Edappal, Malappuram, Kerala. The owner didn’t mind trusting the designer completely when it came to preparing the plan and designing the interiors. The family, however, wished a modern home that has all the amenities. The architect deserves credit for designing a contemporary abode that caters to the needs and interests of the family members.

The sloped roof perfectly suits the tropical climate of Kerala. There are steps not just in the front but on the sides too to enter the sit-out. The laterite stone cladding in double height is the highlight here. Meanwhile, the front yard has been paved with tandoor stones and grass in alternate layers.

Designed in 2950 sqft, the amazing abode has a sit-out, living and dining areas, a kitchen with a work area, two bedrooms and a bathroom on the ground floor. Meanwhile, there are two more bedrooms, a balcony and an open terrace in the upper floor.

Spaces have been separated using interesting décor and furnishing to ensure privacy. White vitrified tiles have been paved on the floor. This makes the interiors look bright and spacious. Most of the furniture is imported and has been done in teak finish. The walls mostly don the serene elegance of the white hue. Meanwhile, the dining area and the stairway are highlighted with attractive green colour to break the monotony of the white.

The dining table has a white glass top on a wooden frame. Meanwhile, Kadappa cladding has been done on the pillars on the sit-out.
