Denny’s brand new house at Thrissur is a splendid abode where the classic features of traditional architecture joins hands with the chicness of contemporary style. The owner who runs a business in Dubai roped in noted architect MM Jose to design a comfortable house on the plot that he had inherited as ancestral property. The family wanted the house to look simple and minimal on the outside. Meanwhile, they wished for spacious and vast interiors. They had decided to build a single-storey house as the family is settled abroad and would be home only for the holidays. The elevation of this house dons the elegant features of the Kerala architecture style while the interiors boast of modern amenities.

Short boundary walls have been built to enjoy the spectacular beauty of the elevation from the road. Besides, the aesthetically designed landscape perfectly complements the classy look of the elevation. The driveway paved with cobblestones, verdant lawns, a beautiful garden and rows of shady trees adds a unique charm to the landscape. GI truss roof has been installed over a flat roof. Besides, roofing tiles have been paved on the truss roof to grant a traditional charm. These high-quality imported roofing tiles are durable and can easily withstand the tropical weather of Kerala.

Most of the trees in the vast plot have been retained to add a green canopy around the structure. There is a paddy field behind the house. The interior spaces have been designed to receive the cool breeze that flows in from the field. For instance, sentry glass windows have been installed on a wall in the bedroom in the backside. These glass windows are sturdy and can be opened in the sides.

Designed in 5600 sqft, this incredible mansion has a car porch, sit out, formal and family living areas, dining space, kitchen with a work area and four bedrooms. The long sit-out is an interesting feature. A sitting space too has been arranged here to enjoy the calming views of the lush green landscape.

The open interiors look and feel spacious. The dining area and the kitchen are visually connected, yet enjoy enough privacy.

The inner walls mostly don the white hue. However, the grey cladding works on the walls of the sit-out and the formal living area adds the perfect contrast by breaking the monotony.

The grand elegance of the Italian marble flooring elevates the overall ambience of the interiors. Meanwhile, customised furniture pieces with leather finish have been used in the common areas.

Sentry glass windows are installed in a wall in the formal living area too. The beautiful views of nature outside could be grabbed from here through this window.

A central courtyard, just as in traditional homes, has been arranged in this house. Interestingly, the common areas are designed around the courtyard. The skylight roof of the courtyard brings natural light in abundance into the house.

The bedrooms are spacious and efficient. The bath attached bedrooms have wardrobes for storage and separate dressing spaces too.

The kitchen cabinets, meanwhile, are done in wood with laminate and lacquered glass finish. The countertop has been paved with nano white.

The family is joyous that their simple single-storey house has become the talk of the town for its elegant features and spacious interiors.
