Bidul Thyagaraj, a music teacher, didn’t have to rack his brain to find a theme for his brand new house built at his hometown in Parali in Palakkad district. One glance at this beautiful and unique house is enough to understand the great love that this family has for music. The elevation has the shapes of many music instruments as unique designer elements.
The violin that is around 22 feet high is the highlight of the elevation that draws instant attention. It was built using metal sheet and coated with wooden paint to match the colour of the violin. Meanwhile, the strings of the violin are done in metal. Cement groves were built during the time of plastering to make the piano. It was completed by highlighting the keys with black and white paint. Interestingly, the measurement of the keys too is perfect to add an authentic look.
The massive dolby speakers on the elevation look incredible. It is quite impressive how these special designs have been smartly incorporated into the elevation. Meanwhile, the well is in the shape of santoor. The compound wall of the well and the grill too have been designed to match the theme.
This beautiful house stands in a quaint plot of just 5.5 cents. Designed in 1800 sqft, this amazing abode has a living space, dining area, kitchen, pooja area and three bedrooms.
The splendid wall painting of a musical notation is what welcomes you to the sit out. The owner wanted this notation to be specially drawn on the wall at the entrance area.
The interiors are simple and have all the required amenities. The paintings of music notations adorn the walls in the living area too.
The use of timber is minimal in the interiors. UPVC has been used on the windows and doors. Timber is used only for the door of the pooja area and the steps of the staircase. This has helped in reducing the furnishing costs to a great extent.
The house shares its name with the owner’s daughter ‘Saveri’. Bidul is working as a music teacher in a school in Qatar. His wife Shabna and daughter are currently living in the house.
The house has already become viral on the social media. Shabna says that lots of people come everyday to see the house and click pictures.
