The house features a beautiful blend of colonial and contemporary architectural styles.

Like every expatriate, Sajeevan who runs a business in Dubai wished to build his dream home in his hometown in Kerala. Sajeevan had entrusted the construction of the house with architect Anoop, who is also his cousin and his wife Maneesha. Sajeevan says that he had no tensions about the construction of the dream dwelling in which the family wished to live when they move back to Kerala, as they had great faith and confidence in the architects.

The house features a beautiful blend of colonial and contemporary architectural styles. Diamond roof tiles that were imported from France are paved on the roof. These unique roofing tiles can reflect the sunlight in amazing ways. This gives the house unique looks during the morning, noon and in the evening.

The glass roofing in the balcony is the highlight of the exteriors. As the plot receives cool breeze abundantly, the elevation has been designed by giving prime importance to the balcony where one could enjoy it. This balcony is the family’s favourite spot where they often gather whenever they are home for the holidays.

This majestic mansion, designed in 5000 sq ft, has a car porch, formal and family living areas, dining space, and kitchen with an adjacent work area, four bedrooms, upper living area, home theatre, balcony and an open terrace.

The car porch which is just beside the main structure looks like a miniature of the house. The tastefully done landscaping elevates the elegance of the house. Natural stone and grass are paved in alternate layers on the front yard. Beautiful shading trees and flowering plants add oodles of charm to the beautiful landscape.

This modern house is equipped with the smart home facilities. The lights, shutters, door alarm and surveillance cameras are all fully automated. Similarly, VRF air conditioners that save energy are used in this house.

The interiors are designed in the open style with spaces interconnected. This feature makes the interiors look vaster and spacious.

The interiors are decorated following the metal – glass – wood theme. This classy pattern could be spotted in most parts of the house.

The furniture and the panelling are done in the wood and veneer finish. The elegance of Italian marble could be seen on the floor in the common areas. Meanwhile, vitrified tiles are used in the bedrooms.

The TV unit is installed on the handrails of the stairway that is designed in the classic wood and glass combination. The family living area is arranged just opposite this. The roof above the stairway is in double height. The pergola glass ceiling here welcomes natural sun shine into the house.

There is a glass window beside the dining area and the side courtyard is just adjacent to it. One could enjoy the meal by watching the beautiful sights outside. The hanging light above the simple dining table is the highlight of the dining space.

A closed courtyard is arranged beside the family living area. A hanging cot and a designer mirror that also acts as a focal point complete this area.

The bedrooms are designed by giving importance to cross ventilation. The bath attached bedrooms have in – built wardrobes for storage and dressing spaces as well.

The show kitchen is designed in the blue and white colour theme. Meanwhile, the cupboards are made in acrylic and glass finish. Nano white is paved on the counter top. The adjacent work area has black granite paved on the floor. There is also a sitting pantry unit that connects to the dining hall.

For most expatriates, building a house of their own, in their hometown, is a matter of great emotional significance that often put them in mental pressure. However, Sajeevan and family are happy that the architects have perfectly built the house of their dreams. They credit Anoop and Maneesha for designing such a mesmerizing abode. The family says that that their friends in Dubai are eager to visit their brand new house when they are in Kerala for the next vacation.
