What makes this Muvattupuzha house an architectural wonder

Prasad and his family were quite sure about what they wanted when decided to build a house at Valakom, Muvattupuzha - an elegant single storied dwelling.
The 2400 sq ft house is constructed on a 30 cents plot which is way below the road level. The surface was heightened to the same level as the road before beginning the construction of the house. Truss work is done over flat roof and is paved with roofing tiles. The area between the roof and the truss work has been turned into a utility space. The temperature inside the house is always pleasant as sunlight won’t hit the roof directly.
The house has formal and family living spaces, dining area, kitchen and four bedrooms with attached bathrooms. Light shades adorn the exteriors and interiors of the house. The elaborate front courtyard is one of the striking features.
As one enters the house, the eyes are immediately drawn to the elegantly done prayer space. The pergola skylight here welcomes sunshine abundantly into the interiors.
The formal and family living spaces and the dining area are arranged as part of the main hall. A curio shelf acts as a semi partition here. Vitrified tiles in matte finish are paved on the floor. The furnishing is mostly done in plywood – veneer finish. The dining table can comfortably accommodate six people.
Storage spaces are arranged in all the four bedrooms. The modern modular kitchen has all the facilities and granite is paved on the counter top.
Shade trees and beautiful meadows adorn the spacious front courtyard. As there is ample space between the roof and the truss work, the house, though single storied, has the storage facilities of a two-storied one. Prasad and his family are extremely happy that they got the house of their dreams.
