The unique design of this two storey house in Aluva offers enough spaces for the family members to spend some quality time together.
Exterior
The house stands on a 12 cents square plot, which is about 3 feet higher than the road in front of it. The red sand stone cladding in the exteriors add to the charm of the house. The same design is repeated in the boundary wall as well. The main entrance of the house opens to the south direction and one can enter into the sit out through west side of the car porch.
Landscaping has been done on the courtyard with hard rock pieces and green grass. The slanting roof is another striking feature of the exterior. The flooring in the sit out is done in granite. A small sitting space is arranged here by placing a wooden plank over GI.
Living space
The living space is done in double height and a small courtyard, which is an inch lower to the floor, is an attractive feature here. The pergola beams on top let in enough natural light. The interiors are designed by giving primary importance to the shades of blue. The yellow and blue texture paints add a special allure to the walls here. A prayer space is set by pasting veneer on plane surface.
Family and Dining
The spacious hall is the most important space in the entire house. The 7 ½ meters long and 4 ½ meters wide hall is where the family enjoys their quality time. The family area, dining space and the stair case too become a part of the hall. The large window near the TV unit also acts as a four – framed half door as well. A ply paneling covers the ELCB box. A computer table and other necessary furniture complete the hall.
Kitchen
A small breakfast table is arranged as an extension of the cooking top paved with granite. Tiles cut in 60 x 60 cms are pasted on the walls above the cook top. Epoxy resin is used to fill the gaps between these tiles. The cabinets are built in ply and teak veneer, and the profile handles give it a classy twist.
Bed and Bath
All the four bedrooms are simple and give importance to comfort. The master bedroom, built in 460 x 360 cms, is the most spacious among the four. Similar flooring patterns are followed in all the rooms to avoid the wastage of tiles. Three bedrooms including the master bedroom are in the ground floor and the guest bedroom is the first floor. Separate shower areas and lots of cupboards make the bathrooms spacious and attractive.
