Does the traditional Indian system of architecture ‘Vastu’ have any relation with wealth creation? Yes, say its practitioners!

In fact, you may usher in prosperity into your house as well as avert a financial crisis by giving attention to certain minor things. According to ‘Vastu Sasthra’, or the science of vastu, even some small arrangements in the house would fill the interiors with positive energy. Things that influence the level of positive energy include everything from decorative pieces to items of everyday use.

Aquarium: As per vastu, the ideal spot to place the aquarium is the drawing room of your home. The aquarium could be on the east, north-east or north side of the room.

Flower vase: Keeping a vase with sweet-smelling flowers or water in the drawing room would enable the residents to achieve financial stability and maintain peace in the house, says vastu. The best spot for the flower vase is near the main door of the dwelling. However, you should remember to change the water and the flowers in the vase every day.

Buddha statue: There is a belief that installing a Buddha idol in a residence would fill the space with peace. Areas where Buddha could be kept are drawing room, garden or kitchen. The level of positive energy inside the house is directly proportional to the size of the Buddha, say vastu experts.

Wind chimes: Another way to invite wealth is by hanging a wind chime outside your dwelling.

Paintings: It has been found that certain works of art too can bring good fortune to your home. They include paintings of waterfall, flowing river and goldfish. Paintings depicting forests and greenery are also suitable for the purpose.

Indoor plants: If you have an interest in growing indoor plants, choose a money plant to attract luck and wealth into the interiors. Vastu says a money plant in a green-coloured bottle or vase located at the north side of the house would not only usher in prosperity but also open up new opportunities at the workplace. Maintaining a lucky bamboo also would make you rich, say vastu experts.
